GEHARA IS COMING!!

Recently, a new 15 minute giant monster short, entitled GEHARA: THE LONG-HAIRED GIANT MONSTER (Chohatsu Daikaiju Gehara), aired on Japanese television February 24th. The film was met with joy as many fans of the genre finally had something new to look forward to other than the famous ‘Godzilla’. It didn’t take long for the short-film to show up on a Japanese type “youtube”, and was received greatly by hundreds of fans. Video and full poster after the jump.

A Beautiful Disaster – David’s Review of Watchmen

This movie was a perfect example of how the graphic novel or original source is superior than what’s on screen. It came out with a whimper of excellence with Zack Snyder’s amazing visuals and breathtaking scenes of extreme violence and details of what the novel was all about. These are my thoughts of the pros and cons of this movie and if the hype lived up to the infamous reputation of one of the best novels of all time (in my opinion of course).

This Week In Viral – Finally, D-9 is Back!

As mentioned in last week’s TWIV, the viral for District 9 seems to be back out of nowhere. There are viral web ads on sites like slashfilm.com and even Facebook (thanks to David and Sajin for the tips). Also, the main viral site, D-9.com has a new intro video and walkthrough (via andyboy35 from the forums), and MNU has some downloadable items like wallpapers and stickers. Not to be outdone, mnuspreadslies.com has a new blog just saying they’re back and some downloadable items as well. Lastly, mathsfromouterspace.com has an option to register for updates. As always, it’s a good idea to sign up.

The viral was enough to have /Film devote an article to it, so check that out as well.

Watchmen Premiere Weekend

This Week In Viral – Cloverfield 2?

That’s right, JJ Abrams spoke at WonderCon about the possibility of Cloverfield 2. Here is the video:

Not much more than what he and Director Matt Reeves have said in the past, though it seems like they finally have a good idea for the sequel/spin off.
