The mystery continues tomorrow night as the second episode of NBC’s new show The Event hopes to begin shining some light on just what “the event” is. Joe Jonas’ Ex Cast in Super 8

In Brief: How’s that for a catchy title? 19-year-old actress and singer (and yes, former girlfriend to the Jonas brother) Amanda Michalka has been cast in an unknown role (shocker!) in J.J. Abrams’ Super 8. The younger of the sisters that make up the musical duo 78violet formerly called Aly & AJ (she sometimes goes by the name AJ) announced the news on Twitter. Her other film work includes The Lovely Bones and the upcoming Secretariat. Follow our coverage of Super 8 here.

Viral Video: Boogerman SNL Digital Short

I’m a big fan of the Digital Shorts on Saturday Night Live. However, this latest one from the NBC comedy sketch show’s season premiere last night doesn’t quite live up to “Laser Cats” or even “Sergio”. In it, Katy Perry (who was the musical guest to Amy Poehler hosting) sings the theme song to an awful (and fortunately fake) movie called “Boogerman” at an awards show. This is quite the jab at Facebook, as the film is a dramatization of the sordid rise of the 2nd biggest website in the world, and it usurped MySpace as the go-to place for social networking. Get more details after the break.

“Let Me In” Review: Methodically Enchanting

Overture and Hammer Film’s Let Me In is a diffferent take on the vampire subgenre that has become popular of late. The horror film, written and directed by Cloverfield‘s Matt Reeves, is a remake of the 2008 Swedish film Let the Right One In, which itself is an adapation of the 2004 novel of the same name. Starring Kodi Smit-McPhee, Chloë Moretz, Richard Jenkins, and Chloe Moretz, Let Me In opens October 1st. Is it worth killing for, or does it suck? Find out after the break.
