Nerd HQ announces additional panelists for “Conversations for a Cause,” the very popular philanthropic series of un-moderated panels taking place at Nerd HQ 2013 in San Diego July 18th-21st in a new location, Petco Park (100 Park Blvd, San Diego, CA 92101) Gaslamp Gate.
The first round of panels went on sale last week and sold out in minutes.
Newly announced panels include “Fannibal Meetup with Bryan Fuller, Hugh Dancy and David Slade,” “Signing with the legendary Jim Lee of DC Entertainment,” “Adult Swim Panel featuring cast members from NTSF and Children’s Hospital,” “A Conversation with Evangeline Lilly,” “Kick Ass 2 Panel and Signing,” “Tiny Commando featuring Ed Helms, Gillian Jacobs, Ryan McFaul and Zachary Levi,” “A Conversation with NASA/JPL Mars Curiosity Rover” and “A Conversation with Zachary Levi and Mystery Guests.” Tickets will be $22 each and go on sale today, July 16, beginning at 12 p.m. PDT and rolling-out throughout the day.
In addition, tickets will go on sale today for “‘Serenity’ Movie in the Park.” The festival fan favorite screening will take place on the field at Petco Park and will feature a special appearance by Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk. The screening will take place on Saturday, July 20 at 9 p.m. PDT and tickets will cost $15 each.

Adult Swim and State Farm® have partnered to get Comic-Con International fans to a better state – of cosplay. Building on last year’s successful program, the two companies today announced a series of activations that will debut at this week’s annual fan event in San Diego and will provide a unique experience to Adult Swim fans and boost their convention experience. Beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 18, Adult Swim will distribute at its booth (#3721) a custom, premium pamphlet filled with details on the network’s panels, events and off-site activations throughout the event. Randomly included in select pamphlets during the first day will be 10 “Adult Swim’s Get to a Better State Sweepstakes” golden tickets, which will grant one lucky fan plus one guest V.I.P. status for a host of Adult Swim happenings at this year’s con, including guaranteed seating at the network’s show panels, streamlined access to the Adult Swim Funhouse and free tickets to The Eric Andre Show Live! + Hot Package Live! performance at the House of Blues on Saturday, July 20. Adding to the Comic-Con experience, and new for this year, Adult Swim’s Costume Contest – presented by State Farm will encourage and reward fans for dressing up as their favorite Adult Swim original characters, tapping in to an already common practice at this and other conventions throughout the country. The contest will be featured on a co-branded website at adultswimpresents.com, and can be accessed one of four ways: fans can upload their photos both through their computers and the Adult Swim mobile app, as well as via Facebook and Instagram using #ADULTSWIMCONTEST to have their photos entered in to a photo gallery on the site. Additionally, there is an on-site component where fans in Adult Swim costumes will have the opportunity to enter the contest on the spot. Fans not attending Comic-Con can also submit their best “selfies” online through July 28. One grand prize winner will be chosen by a panel of judges at Adult Swim based on four criteria: creativity, originality, recognize-ability and fit with the Adult Swim sensibility. The winner will be chosen on or around July 29 and will win a grand prize of $1000 plus a free V.I.P. trip to Williams Street in Atlanta and have their costume featured in a national television spot.
Adult Swim’s Costume Contest – presented by State Farm will be promoted on-site throughout the four-day event with branding included in the premium pamphlet handed out to fans. NEW YORK/TORONTO/LOS ANGELES – July 16, 2013 – Entertainment One (eOne) is proud to reveal the full schedule of activities and events for the hit Syfy series Haven at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2013. Returning to the world’s largest fan convention for its third consecutive year, Haven is poised to take San Diego by storm with its biggest presence ever at SDCC – all in anticipation of the series’ eagerly-awaited fourth season, which will premiere Friday, September 13th at 10 PM (ET/PT) on Syfy.
Perfectly timed for San Diego Comic-Con, eOne announces the creation of “Haven: After the Storm,” a 16-page comic book that will be exclusively available as a special added-value bonus inside the North American Blu-ray and DVD release of Haven: The Complete Third Season, which arrives in stores September 3. Featuring an original story by Nick Parker from the Haven writing team, the comic picks up immediately following Season 3’s dramatic cliffhanger and provides the perfect bridge to the events surrounding this coming season’s premiere episode. “Haven: After the Storm” features pencils and inks by Steve Ellis (The Only Living Boy, The Walking Dead: Dead Reckoning) and cover art by Scott Hampton (Batman, Hellboy). The comic was facilitated by Quixotic Transmedia and edited by Quixotic’s CEO Joe LeFavi (Immortals: Gods and Heroes).
San Diego Comic-Con will also mark the debut of the Haven Season 4 social media blitz. On display will be such iconic objects as Audrey’s police badge, Duke’s gold doubloon, Jordan’s gloves, Tristram Carver’s puzzle board, the Haven PD’s Colorado Kid case file and a selection of vintage Haven Heralds. The Haven Historical Society Display is on view during posted show floor hours.

For the second year, the cast and crew of Haven along with celebrity and special guests celebrate the upcoming season and kick-off Comic-Con in style at Sidebar San Diego. Featuring specialty drinks from sponsor Wild Turkey, this invitation-only, red carpet event, hosted by eOne, is sure to be one of the most buzzed-about parties of the convention. FRIDAY, JULY 19
HAVEN SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON PANEL (3:00 PM – 4:00 PM, Room 6DE)
Join the cast of Haven as they take the stage for the hit series’ first ever San Diego Comic-Con panel. Panelists include stars Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant, Eric Balfour and Adam Copeland (WWE Superstar Edge), along with Co-Creator Sam Ernst and Executive Producers Shawn Piller, Matt McGuinness and Gabrielle Stanton. Haven’s newest cast member Colin Ferguson moderates the panel, which also features an exclusive look at footage from Season 4.
#DISCOVERHAVEN SCAVENGER HUNT (starting at 4:00 PM, upon panel completion)
Immediately following the panel, all attendees are invited to participate in the #DiscoverHaven Scavenger Hunt, in which fans will be challenged to find exclusive, take-home Haven Artifacts in and around the convention center and Gaslamp District. The first fifty fans to complete the Scavenger Hunt will be treated to a special up-close and personal experience with the cast at the final destination.
NERD Q: A CONVERSATION WITH HAVEN (6:30 PM – 7:15 PM, Nerd HQ, Petco Park)
Haven makes its first-ever appearance at Nerd HQ when cast members Emily Rose, Lucas Bryant, Eric Balfour, Adam Copeland and Colin Ferguson participate in “Conversations for a Cause,” an intimate Q&A, which will stream through The Nerd Machine YouTube page, NerdMachineTV, with all proceeds benefiting Operation Smile, a charity that provides cleft lip and palate repair surgeries to children in developing countries.
Haven, based on the novella “The Colorado Kid” from renowned author Stephen King, follows former FBI agent Audrey Parker, who becomes a cop in the small town of Haven, Maine, and soon discovers the town’s many secrets, which also hold the key to unlocking the mysteries of her lost past.
From leading independent studio Entertainment One (eOne), Haven is co-commissioned by Shaw Media in Canada and globally via Universal Networks International (UNI).
The creative team behind Haven includes executive producers John Morayniss (Rookie Blue, Hell On Wheels) from eOne Television and David MacLeod (Legends of the Fall, The Ray Bradbury Theater) of Big Motion Pictures, who are joined by Lloyd Segan, Shawn Piller, Scott Shepherd (Stephen King’s The Dead Zone, Greek) of Piller/Segan/Shepherd, Matt McGuinness (Journeyman, Dark Blue) and Gabrielle Stanton (The Vampire Diaries, Castle) as well as Sam Ernst & Jim Dunn (Stephen King’s The Dead Zone), who also developed the series.
