DISNEY RELEASE NEW TRAILER FOR ANIMATED BLOCKBUSTER IN WAITING: ZOOTOPIA.
New year: new trailers! Yes, there will be quite an influx of new trailers and tv spots as 2016 is now in full flight. Before you know it, we will all be enjoying the summer blockbusters and looking to the Fall and Christmas releases all over again!
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. First, let’s look at the brand spanking new trailer from Disney for ZOOTOPIA.
What conclusions can we draw? Well, it’s an anthropomorphic treat, whereby each animated animal corresponds clearly to a human character comedy archetype.
It is also a tribute to / pastiche of the cop show, with a sense of this being about a Rookie Cop on the Beat as it were. 36 hours to crack the case! It just happens that the Police force in question and its target criminals / trusting public are..well..yes, cartoon animals.
But we already CARE about this cast and the vocal talents have instantly created a memorable base of material for sequels before the film is even released.
This feels warm, funny, emotionally literate, moral, philosophical. Pastoral, even. IE it is suitable for the whole family. Sharp in its way but unspoiled by the kind of meta-textual skepticism cynicism that perhaps invaded and pervaded so called family animation markets of the last 15 years.
Above all..ZOOTOPIA clearly sports an EXCELLENT standard of animation. Yes, it is more traditional than one is used to of late. But the pixels literally jump out at your eyes, with 3-d power in a 2-d frame. The textures and colours are a true knock out. It’s all up there on the screen and that’s just from the TRAILER!!
Still not sold? ZOOTOPIA also features IDRIS ELBA. And SHAKIRA (who also sings a great song for the film: see below):
And if you ARE sold on seeing this great piece of animated cinema yet simply cannot wait? And want to take the experience further? For a truly immersive gaming connection: I recommend POKI ZOOTOPIA GAMES
Poki Games have variety in format, with several types of game playing experience on offer. They appeal to a wide range of skill bases: understanding the spirit and content of the movie they represent. The game play here is an experience every bit as accessible, educative and stimulating as the cinematic counterparts.
We look forward to watching ZOOTOPIA and reviewing it, as well as covering other news developments in the world of animation and related gaming in 2016.
