Reboots vs Originals Who is the Bigger Badder Better Brand

by James Murphy

Reboots : Can they possibly beat the Originals?

kate

Reboots are a fact of life and here to stay. Not quite remakes and never a simple sequel. Sometimes, a ‘soft’ reboot with original cast returning to pass a torch. Sometimes, the originals just never happened and it’s a clean slate. But the reboot remains solid business, save the occasional misfire. Even the ones you want to fail can win and vice versa. And even if it does fail, one can always reboot a reboot a reboot.

Which is better? What attracts more punters / makes more cash? The originals or the reboots?

For the definitive picture, we have this helpful info-graph here. You’re welcome.
