What do I like about this guy’s content? Well, he is consistent. Seriously dedicated. Zero if any gaps or delays. Tune in to one or more of the media above and you will be entertained. I like his choice of formats, which unite versatile areas of debate and discussion to a still cohesive media / sci-fi/geek culture/pop cultural heritage appreciation. He also knows his stuff; Robert earned spurs working in movie marketing (notably the groundbreaking Superman Returns viral campaigns and the Requiem for Krypton 3 hour epic making of documentary).

There is a very grown up commercial awareness, legal eye and pervasive attention to detail in his casts. A sense of civil curiosity and a joy in learning both about film and around it. One gets treated to explorations of everything from human sexuality to virology and yet STILL find an entertaining thread of movie gossip amidst it all. Politics do crop up (he’s no fan of a certain President but hey..it’s a democracy!); though never intrusively or didactically so.

Works well with others, whilst balancing them out. Features prominently on the JOHN CAMPEA SHOW.  Now, I like Campea: he’s built an empire of sorts, from nowhere, both rebelling against and working within a corporate structure that he understands, innately. Also a good, moral man and energetic presenter who loves his wife, dogs and prides himself on encyclopedic knowledge of film, commerce and law. But he can be pompous and officious so Robert is a GREAT foil and I suspect they know that! Fab team, balanced further by rising star Ashley Whelan (divine, btw), with whom both Robert and John have a kinetic line in movie punditry.

Rob’s style =  relaxed yet focused. You can tune into his shows intently or just play it in the background whilst attending to chores or powering down for the day. Above all: there is a sense of calm and decency. It’s soporific and comforting without ever being bland or dull. This is a guy who loves his mom, his dog, his colleagues and his listeners. And he also happens to love..the awesome power of movies.

I have no hesitation in recommending this latest addition to our hall of fame! Keep up the good work, Robert.
