To celebrate the anniversary of “The Wizard of Oz,” we’ve put together some great parodies and viral videos poking fun at the American classic. Some of these are pretty good and made us laugh, so take a look after the break.
Following a brief stint at Comic-Con, the Rocket Poppeteers are at it again, this time updating their website and accepting new applications. We recently told you about a free TRON: Legacy iPhone application that enjoys both multiplayer and single player game modes, but it may serve as another purpose now. We’ve received a press release from Disney informing us of a new “golden ticket” that can be picked up from the ComiTRON booth located on aisle #3721. This ticket is for an offsite ComiTRON event which could be the arcade / night club, or something new. Read the full press release for all the information after the brake.
A new theatrical trailer for TRON: Legacy was released today on Yahoo! Movies, and it’s awesome. The trailer gives us the first glimpse into what the storyline will be, and it’s the first time we see more than just Kevin Flynn’s face. This comes after a Tron panel was held at Comic-Con featuring all the stars, and if you missed it check out our live blog. Watch the new trailer after the break.
A new viral video that combines Metal Gear Solid and Modern Warfare hit the web, and it’s pretty great. The 8 minute video entitled Modern WarGear (Act 1) is a hilarious mashup of these two massively popular video games. The video is the latest installment in an online campaign to stir up a fanbase for a small independent film called Beat Down Boogie. Watch the video after the break.

A Tron Legacy application was released by Disney yesterday on the iTunes App store, and it can be yours for free. While we still have months before the film comes out, you can jump right into the Tron experience with some fun single and multiplayer games. Sony has been promoting #SocialNetwork on twitter today, but it looks like a new movie may steal the buzz. BestWeekEver has obtained an exclusive trailer for The Other Social Network, a flick revolving around MySpace creator Tom. Obviously this isn’t a real trailer for a real film, instead a mocking of the teaser trailer for The Social Network released late June. It even pokes fun at MySpace’s acquisition of Photobucket.
