Arcade Fire’s Clever Music Video

It’s been over three years since Arcade Fire‘s last album “Neon Bible” came out. Before “Neon Bible,” “Funeral” came out with the single Wake Up on it. Wake Up is best known as the song in the trailers for Spike Jones’ Where The Wild Things Are. Arcade Fire is one of the biggest and best indie bands in the world, and for good reason: They have yet to put out a bad album. So naturally, I’m a massive fan of them.

Watch The Walking Dead Comic-Con Trailer

One of the biggest events to come out of San Diego Comic-Con 2010 was AMC’s panel for The Walking Dead. MovieViral’s Dan was at the panel (you can read the live blog here) first hand and loved the footage shown. Watch the full 4 minute re-cut trailer for The Walking Dead below!

Fake Trailer for Oregon Trial: The Movie

Remember back in Elementary school when you’d sit down in front of a Macintosh computer and play the 8-bit game Oregon Trail? I sure as hell do, seeing how fast it became one of my favorite video games of all time. Like many, many old video games they’ve found a new nostalgic popularity amongst internet users within the past few years; College Humor’s Minesweeper is probably the most well known and the most popular parody video out. Now Oregon Trail gets the parody movie trailer treatment. See it after the break.

Does Comic-Con Actually Hurt Movies?

San Diego Comic-Con 2010 has already came and went. Many movie studios and TV networks brought all their goodies to the event this year in hopes of gaining positive buzz from the most important people to their franchises, the fans themselves. Warner Brothers, Marvel, AMC and many other places all showed footage from their biggest movies and TV shows, generally getting great response. The question is, does it really matter?

NBC’s New Show The Event Gains Massive Buzz at Comic-Con

San Diego Comic-Con is usually the make or break place for studios to unveil their newest projects. Marvel, Warner Brothers, and many other studios and networks all use Comic-Con as a place to (hopefully) gain a lot of positive buzz for the movie or TV show that they’re selling. NBC’s The Event is no different. NBC decided to bring the so far and pretty mysterious show to Comic-Con this year which turned out to be a massive success for the network. With comparisons to ABC’s LOST and FOX’s 24, The Event is claimed to be a sci-fi show with mystery and romance elements all wrapped into one.

Marvel Panel: Thor, Captain America, and The Avengers!

The Marvel panel in Hall H just finished a little bit ago, and we saw footage from both Captain America and Thor. Captain America’s footage was still a very rough cut as they’ve only been filming for a few weeks, Thor’s footage was finished and looked good. The audience went crazy for both showings, a similar reaction to the first screening of Iron Man back in 2007. Any doubts for Thor were completely annihilated when the trailer began. They decided to show a the Thor trailer again, not giving the audience enough time to come down from the high that the first trailer delivered. Read about the big surprise (The Avengers!) after the break.

AMC’s Mad Men and Breaking Bad Characters Have Twitters!

AMC  (American Movie Channel) has become a powerhouse of a TV channel with their award winning shows Mad Men and Breaking Bad. Both critically acclaimed and arguably some of the best shows on TV not only now, but in a long time and with their extensive fan bases, it’s no surprise AMC reached out through Twitter to keep in touch with the fans; giving them some extra fun (and canon) tidbits about the shows. The twitters themselves are the characters of Breaking Bad and Mad Men tweeting to each other and to the fans. I understand the characters from Breaking Bad having Twitter accounts, but Mad Men is set in an age before the internet. I don’t mind the silliness. Check out how the twitter accounts and a Facebook fanpage for Mad Men’s Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce, the ad company the show revolves around and where the main character, Don, works. [Read more...]

Fan Made “Walking Dead” Event Map

AMC’S The Walking Dead, based off of Image Comic’s comic book with the same title, is in the middle of shooting its live action pilot. I’m a huge fan of The Walking Dead, and I’m completely excited for the show to premiere in October, so anything Walking Dead related is a blessing. A few days ago I came across a website completely devoted to both the comic and soon-to-be TV show. I came across what appears to be a map of the events in The Walking Dead as they happened in each issue.

Another Awesome Avengers Fan Poster!

A few weeks ago the official concept art for Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The First Avenger and Thor was released (or leaked) onto the web, taking the internet by storm and splitting fanboys down the middle. Many debated the looks of the two heroes, while others kept their mouths shut and created awesome fan art. Now someone else has created another great fan poster, this time from the forums of SuperHeroHype. The artist behind the poster is “the_mad_butcher”, and it was his first post on the website, but hopefully not his last. Check out the_mad_butcher’s Avengers poster below!
