hemlockgrove

Want to know a great way to get me interested in something? Add the name Eli Roth to any part of it and I’m sold. If one of the most iconic horror directors and one of my personal favorites is interested enough in being an executive producer on something, then I see no reason why I too shouldn’t want to check it out. And that is exactly what has brought my curiosity to the new original series for Netflix, “Hemlock Grove”. While the full series is not available until this coming Friday, we at MovieViral got a sneak peek at the first three episodes. Keep reading to find out my thoughts. MINOR SPOILERS to follow.

Flat out, it takes a lot of balls to say that you are going to do a remake of Evil Dead. Even a bigger set if you are going with a “new vision”. You better be prepared for what’s coming to you. You also better be prepared to make a great film. The original is a staple of horror fans all over and with the latest in not so great horror remakes, well the odds are just not in your favor. So how does the Fede Alvarez film hold up now that’s it’s out? Does it join the lower ranks of letdowns of past or does it set itself apart? Keep reading to find out my thoughts.

Movie Review – G.I. Joe: Retaliation (3D)

Retaliation

If you go back a few years ago and read my review of The Rise of Cobra, I make mention of G.I. Joe being a massive part of my childhood and that still holds true. Back in 2009 I felt a little let down over what I had just watched, and with the upcoming Retaliation film, I got a little giddy based on what I had seen up to this point. The fact that Snake Eyes did not have a mouth was almost the selling point, I’m not going to lie. So could the new film directed by Jon M. Chu save my childhood that was taken away a few years ago? Keep reading and find out!

“The battle of wits has begun” – Princess Bride Wine!

If there is one thing I love, it’s a good gla….fine, BOTTLE, of wine. I also enjoy movies, movies about wine, and whining about movies. No, this is not my dating profile. Stay with me now. Yes, as the title explains, the great scene in The Princess Bride involving the switching of poisoned goblets between Westley and Vizzini is now coming soon thanks to the ……Alamo Drafthouse?
