San Diego Comic Con 2014 has begun, and with that, herds upon herds of us geeks and nerds have descended upon the San Diego convention center. Amongst all the cool things being revealed at Comic-Con this year, Legendary and Guillermo del Toro are showing off a new way to experience the world of Pacific Rim. They’ve partnered with Oculus VR, the leading pioneers of virtual reality, to deliver a game called Pacific Rim: Jaeger Pilot. The game allows fans to step into a fully-realized Jaeger Combat Simulator and experience what it feels like to pilot a 250-foot robot. Check out their promo video after the break.
As soon as the Marvel portion of the D23 Expo Live-Action panel, it went on Disney’s own properties. One of the biggest things to come out of that panel was that we got to see the first few clips of the Robert Stromberg‘s Maleficent, starring Angelina Jolie.
We knew that the film would be an origins story for Maleficent, but the scenes that were shown gave us a more clear idea of what her motivations were, why she became evil, and would would drive her to curse Sleeping Beauty. Hit the jump for more.
“Kick-Ass 2″ Interview: Lindy Booth On Playing Night Bitch, Working With Jeff Wadlow Again, Shooting In Toronto, & Running In Heels
Lindy Booth may look like some pretty girl on the outside, but deep down she has got the skills to Kick-Ass. The actress reunites with Cry Wolf director Jeff Wadlow for the sequel to the cult superhero film, where she plays a ballet teacher by day, but the nasty Night Bitch by night. We had an oppurtunity to sit down one-on-one with the actress during this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, where we talked about Comic-Con itself, playing a character called Night Bitch, working with Wadlow again, and whether or not she would be in for a third film. When the hallowed halls of Comic-Con fill up, the dead will walk again. What am I talking about you ask, why The Walking Dead Escape of course. For two years running Petco Park has played home to an obstacle course that tests full body fitness and more importantly, the ability to outwit a zombie. Whether you’re a zombie aficionado who has always wanted to test their zombie skills in real life or you enjoy the endurance of an obstacle course the Walking Dead Escape has something for everyone.
BBC’s legendary sci-fi television show Doctor Who celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, and the panel at San Diego Comic-Con was sure to delight fans. Unfortunately, there was no news of the new Doctor, and not every Doctor was there as was rumored. However, it’s still worth a look, so watch our recording of the entire panel (without footage for legal reasons) after the break.
Comic-Con 2013: Roundtable Interviews With Cast and Crew of “Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox”
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, the latest DC animated movie from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, debuted at San Diego Comic-Con this week. Godzilla is one of those iconic characters that will remain a part of cinematic history for a very long time. Directing this new iteration of Godzilla, the acclaimed King of Monsters, is Monsters director Gareth Edwards. He along with film stars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Elizabeth Olson were at Comic-Con to present some footage from the film and share their thoughts with the audience.
