WonderCon 2012 Tickets Are Now On Sale

Briefly: We don’t get a chance to cover a lot of conventions here at MovieViral, but we have made Comic-Con and WonderCon staple events on our calendar. Next year, WonderCon is temporarily moving to Anaheim, which is right in our backyard, so we’ll be all over it. Tickets for Comic-Con’s little brother started going on sale today, so if you have $20 – $50 to spend, you could see a MovieViral staff member there! If you missed our coverage from last year’s event, click here, and we’ll bring you more news as we get closer to the March 16-18 dates of the convention.

Human Preservation Project Puts You in a Comic at NYCC

We haven’t reported on 5 Gum’s Human Preservation Project viral in a while. The last time we checked in, the third testing facility was getting ready to open. Since then, more mysterious packages have been delivered. Also, during the New York Comic-Con, the Human Preservation Project was present, putting test subjects into their own comic panel. Steig Larrson’s “Millenium Trilogy” to Become Graphic Novel Series

International phenomenon and best-selling book series, The Millennium Trilogy is being adapted into a series of graphic novels by DC Entertainment’s imprint, Vertigo. The company will work with Steig Larrson’s (author of the Millennium Trilogy) estate and Hedlund Literary Agency to adapt the books. Find out more after the jump. [Read more...]

WonderCon 2012 Moves Next To Disneyland

Briefly: The Internet is abuzz with news that WonderCon, Comic-Con’s little brother, will be held in Anaheim, CA next year while its regular home, the Moscone Center in San Francisco, is undergoing renovations. The convention will be held from March 16-18 at the Anaheim Convention Center, which was one of the potential destinations for Comic-Con when it was thinking about leaving San Diego. Our last press event for Comic-Con was the Fright Night press conference, which included stars Colin Farrell (before he had to leave for the Total Recall panel), Anton Yelchin, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Imogen Poots, Chris Sarandon, writer Marti Noxon, and director Craig Gillespie. Comic-Con 2011: “Spider-Man” Press Conference

On Friday, the cast and crew of The Amazing Spider-Man sat down for a press conference at Comic-Con. In attendance was producers Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach, Spidey himself Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone (who plays Gwen Stacy), director Marc Webb, and Rhys Ifans (before his incident). Comic-Con 2011: “Tin Tin” Panel Video With Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson

One of my favorite panels this weekend at Comic-Con was the Hall H presentation of The Adventures of Tin Tin, which was on Friday. Director Steven Spielberg made his first appearance ever at the convention, and producer Peter Jackson made a surprise appearance. Watch the videos of the panel after the break.

Comic-Con 2011: Roundtable with Robert Rodriguez

After Robert Rodriguez had his Comic-Con panel to talk about his new Quick Draw Productions, he sat down for a roundtable interview to go into more specifics on what the company is for, as well as to talk about his other upcoming projects. Leslie Sobon, VP of global product and outbound marketing of AMD, was there as well, since the computer hardware company has partnered with Rodriguez and his production company.
