The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I is nearing its release date, and we’ve seen two trailers in the past few months. The film had a small presence at Comic-Con this year, choosing to forgo grand Hall H spectacle and trade it in for something smaller and more humble. Since then it’s been a mopey marketing campaign to reflect the dark tones of the final two films of the trilogy. Now we are getting one final trailer before the film makes its debut, and if you are a fan of the books, well, then there will probably be some tears in your eyes.

President Snow has declared war on the hostiles of Panem, and is using those close to Katniss to bring the rebellion down. Will she be swayed and turn her back on those who need her most? Hit the jump to see the final trailer of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part I. [Read more...]

Walt Disney Studios has just released the first trailer for Tomorrowland, directed by Brad Bird, featuring a screenplay written co-written by Bird and Damon Lindelof. Much of the film has been kept a secret, but from what we’ve learned through early teases, viral marketing, and the D23 expo, the film was said to be be an early look at the sci-fi oddities that people were fascinated with in the early days of the sci-fi genre. The film was actually scheduled for a December 2014 release, until it was pushed back to its new summer 2015 release.

The film centers on a former boy genius (George Clooney) who teams up with a troubled but bright and optimistic teen (Britt Robertson) and set off on a quest to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space known only as “Tomorrowland.” The film also stars Hugh Laurie,Raffey Cassidy, Tim McGraw, Judy Greer, Kathryn Hahn, Keegan-Michael Key, and Thomas Robinson. ‘Interstellar’ Trailer: Christopher Nolan’s Space Epic Will Open Three Days Early

Paramount Pictures will open Interstellar, Christopher Nolan‘s mega space epic, three days early. It’s marketing move we see from time to time to get a film to jump a head of the weekend competition. Normally we would see a move like this during a holiday weekend, but seeing as Interstellar would go up against Big Hero 6, the move makes a bit of sense. Of course, Nolan’s film speaks to a different audience than it does Disney’s animated flick. So we’ll have to see if the move was a good one.

To help promote the film’s early release, Paramount and Warner Bros have released a third, and what could be the last trailer for Interstellar. The film’s website also tells us that you can watch the film in IMAX 70mm, 70mm, 35mm, IMAX, 4K, and Digital, so click the link to see what is available near you. exodus gods and kings trailer

Ridley Scott is back at it again with his large gasping sweeping scenic shots, exciting action sequences, and massive epic feel, with Exodus: Gods and Kings. Fox has released the latest trailer for the film, which stars Christian Bale as Moses, the man who freed the Jews from Ramses’ (Joel Edgerton) tyranny.

By the looks of things, this adaptation of the Book of Exodus isn’t something you learned back in Sunday School or comes close to looking like The Ten Commandments starring Charleston Heston, which airs every Easter Weekend.

So how different does Exodus: Gods And Kings look from either of those? You’ll have to hit the jump to find out. [Read more...]

‘Inherent Vice’ Trailer: Paul Thomas Anderson’s Strange Little Detective Flick

inherent vice trailer image

2014 films have been a bit underwhelming. But with October just around the corner, you can expect to see more and more Oscar bait, which will hopefully pick up the slack made by 3/4s of the year. Now we are getting our first look at Paul Thomas Anderson‘s Inherent Vice, an adaptation of Thomas Pynchon’s novel of the same name.

The film stars Joaquin Phoenix as private detective Larry “Doc Sportello” (Joaquin Phoenix) is hired by a former lover to investigate the kidnapping of her current boyfriend by his wife and her boyfriend. Inherent Vice doesn’t look as dark and brooding as some of his previous efforts, in fact it looks more goofy and light-hearted while staying true to his style and tone.
