Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige Talks “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, “Age Of Ultron”, And More

marvel studios president kevin feige captain america the winter soldier

The Marvel Cinematic Universe wouldn’t be as expansive, enormous, and entertaining as it is now without Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige keeping a close eye on things. It was, for the most part, his vision that gave birth to films like The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, any of the other Phase 2 films and beyond. With Captain America: The Winter Soldier being the last film of Phase 2 set on Earth, this would be one of the few times we would get to talk about one of the heroes of the Avengers before we venture out into unknown galaxies in Guardians of the Galaxy.

We got to sit down with other members of the press to talk about the treatment of female characters in The Winter Soldier, the possibility of a solo Black Widow film, the heavy action sequences seen in the sequel, the other Marvel properties, like X-Men and Spider-Man, that exist outside of Marvel Studios’ reach, and Age of Ultron. Marvel Studios’ Captain America: The Winter Soldier is one of our most anticipated films of the year, and if you have read some of the early reviews, you know that it is already one of the best superhero films ever. Unlike some of the previous solo films, the Captain America films seem to deal with real world issues, and in The Winter Soldier, that couldn’t be more true as there is a political conspiracy brewing, and its impact will set the stage for future Marvel Cinematic Universe events.

We were invited to sit down with a couple of journalists to talk to Samuel L. Jackson and Sebastian Stan about the film, if they have ever asked Kevin Feige about the future of the MCU, working with Robert Redford, and reprising their characters. Hit the jump for more. [Read more...]

Five Things We Learned At Tyler Perry’s “The Single Moms Club” Press Conference

single moms club header image

I’ll just throw it out there, I haven’t seen a single Tyler Perry movie in my life. However I can understand it’s appeal to the target demographic. While Perry’s films don’t exactly scream blockbuster tentpoles, they have made more then enough money at the box office, sometimes they even earn the number one spot. So going into The Single Mom’s Club press conference I really thought it was going to a film about bitter ex-wives bashing their ex-husbands. But that wasn’t the case. Despite some of the lopsided tones that occured toward the end of the film, the new Tyler Perry comedy, opening in theaters today, is a nice counter film to high speed actioners like Need For Speed. So hit the jump to see what inspired Perry to make this comedy, and what his cast had to say about being in the film. [Read more...]

Need For Speed (2014) starring Imogen Poots

Imogen Poots (Fright Night, That Awkward Moment) has starred in a number of films but none of them could amount to the action packed thrill ride that is Need For Speed. In the film Poots plays Julia Bond, a savvy car dealer who connects the wealthy with rare and exotic cars. We had a chance to talk to the actress at a roundtable during the film’s press day. There she talked about being playing a sophisticated woman in a mostly testosterone movie, some of the stunt work she has done, failing her driver’s ed test, and more. Hit the jump to read what she said. [Read more...]

Scott Waugh Talks Directing “Need For Speed,” Visulizing Stunts, Car Crashes, Bets With Aaron Paul, And More

Need For Speed director Scotty Waugh

Born into the stunt and action movie business, you can say that big movie stunts runs in Need For Speed director Scott Waugh‘s veins. His experience working with his father was at the golden age of stunts, where no CGI or green screen was necessary. Now Scott wants to bring that all back with Need For Speed, a love letter of sorts to films like Bullet, Smokey and the Bandit, and the French Connection. We were able to sit down with a few journalists to talk to Scott about what it was like to collaborate with long time friend and stunt coordinator Lance Gilbert, which cars they pushed to the limit, which cars they babied, translating what was on script to the big screen, and how he and Aaron Paul ended up fighting over a Gran Torino.
