Normally we’d learn about characters through the source material, a plot synopsis, or straight from the cast or crew. But given that everyone is so tight-lipped about Star Wars: The Force Awakens, trying to get information like names of the characters is next to impossible. We already know that the film is canon, and will see the return of Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, R2-D2, C-3PO, and more iconic starships. Plus the Sith. But since the trailer dropped a few weeks back, we don’t know who John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, or Oscar Issac is playing. We also don’t now who the Sith with the broadsword is – maybe it is Adam Driver. And we cannot just keep calling the rolling droid a soccer ball.
Now in a very cool move, EW has revealed the names of the characters seen in the trailer on trading cards. Okay, they aren’t actually trading cards, however, these images resemble the trading cards of yesteryear, and even us the Star Wars designs. Hit the jump to see them all. [Read more…]
As a huge Star Wars fan, today’s reveal of the new trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, J.J. Abrams‘ continuation of the sci-fi action saga, is beyond amazing in my opinion. I never knew in my lifetime I would ever see any sequels to the “Original Trilogy” and this trailer is proof that it’s not just in my imagination, even though we don’t get any real face time with the likes of Han Solo, Princess Leia or Luke Skywalker yet. Regardless, this trailer shows that we’re moving in the right direction with the new Star Wars universe of stories. Check out the trailer below along with a breakdown of all that we saw with helpful screen shots.
We’ve known that Jurassic World takes place some 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park. Though the subsequent sequels would be considered canon, Colin Treverrow’s upcoming film doesn’t seem to be considered with the multiple returns to the various island Dr. Hammond owned in the films. Now a newly launched viral website will help fill in those gaps between the first film and the newest one. We learn that Masrani Global is the company that helped rebuild Jurassic Park into the thriving dinosaur-filled theme park that it is today.
The viral site has what you’d expect to see in these faux websites, history of the company, career opportunities, and of course media, which actually consists of images. These new images include our first looks at Iffran Khan and BD Wong’s characters. But it also give us some insight as to what happened to INGEN since the incident 22 years ago. Hit the jump for more. If you want to attract more viewers to a show, you got to have some bait, and for Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. they are putting out bait so big, you’d just be plain stupid to ignore. Or you could just wait for it to air on the internet, but that is besides the point.
The point is that the first trailer for Avengers: Age Of Ultron will air on next week’s episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. It’s a smart move considering the show’s declining ratings, but strange improved storytelling. Hopefully it’ll be enough to attract the viewers to see that the show has improved since last season. But in the age of the Internet, I think fans might be willing to wait it out.
Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris HemsworthMark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Cobie Smulders, and new to the series James Spader, Elizabeth Olsen, and Aaron Taylor-Johnson. The film opens in theaters on May 1, 2015.
