Disney Saved The Goods For The D23 Expo

Walt Disney Studios has provided a press release for its upcoming D23 Expo, which showcases upcoming projects from the company. It was assumed that the reason Disney and its subsidiaries Pixar and Marvel had such a small presence at Comic-Con was because they were saving up for their own convention. That speculation seems to be correct, as you can see in the press release after the break.

No Hall H Panel For Marvel Studios At Comic-Con

Early last week, we told you that many major movie studios had decided not to devote their marketing efforts towards this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, and others were still on the fence, including Marvel Studios. “Real Steel” Sends Out WRB Posters!

A month ago, we reported about a viral site for Disney’s new film, Real Steel, directed by Shawn Levy (Night at the Museum) and starring Hugh Jackman. The site highlighted the history of the fictional World Robot Boxing (WRB) organization and required you to enter a series of codes to unlock more of the history. After entering the codes and submitting your mailing info, you were told that you may be receiving a prize in the mail. Well, that prize arrived today. Read on to find out what it is!

Movie Review: Disneynature’s “African Cats”

This Earth Day (April 22nd) will mark the third annual US release from Disneynature, a Walt Disney film label that produces exclusively nature documentaries. 2009 saw Earth, last year we got Oceans, and this Friday African Cats hits theaters. See “African Cats”, Save the Savanna!

Disneynature, the first new Disney-branded film label from The Walt Disney Studios in more than 60 years, was launched in April 2008 to bring the world’s top nature filmmakers together to share a wide variety of wildlife subjects and stories with theatrical audiences. Earth was the first film to premiere domestically under the new label. Its “Buy a Ticket, Plant a Tree” initiative led to the planting of 2.7 million trees in Brazil ’s Atlantic Forest. Oceans was the third highest grossing feature-length nature film in history. Its “See ‘Oceans,’ Save Oceans” initiative helped establish 40,000 acres of marine protected area in The Bahamas, preserving essential coral reefs. This year, Disneynature continues the tradition with its latest documentary, African Cats, the story of three big cat families vying for survival on the Savanna.
