If you love Ryan Reynolds and tight spaces, this contest is for you. Fantastic Fest, the annual genre film festival held in Austin, Texas, is coming up this September, and you can walk the red carpet opening night if you are chosen to watch Lionsgate’s Buried while actually buried underground. Calling it a “Rolling Roadshow of One”, this is part of the organization’s series of on-location screenings of films. Newport Beach Film Festival Preview: Documentary Uses Footage From 140 People Around The World

The Newport Beach Film Festival in California begins this Thursday and lasts until April 29. While the Film Fest is not a high profile as Cannes or Sundance (or as established, with this being the 11th year), it still has plenty of great movies both big and small to enjoy. We’ll be providing coverage of the festival, including reviews and any news we can squeeze out of it. There are a plethora of screenings on our to-do list, but one of the most intriguing is a documentary titled 140 that turns regular people into filmmakers and takes a page from Twitter.

iPhone App Accepted Into Boston Film Festival

You read that right. For the first time ever, an iPhone application has been accepted in a film festival. The app, titled Walking Cinema: Murder on Beacon Hill, is an interactive murder mystery story that includes videos. The videos, to be shown together in order, are to debut at the Boston International Film Festival. Find out more after the jump.
