A Neophyte’s Retrospective of The James Bond Film Series

This year marked the 50th anniversary for the James Bond film series. Between Dr. No in 1962 and this November’s Skyfall, there have been twenty-three official movies (and one bastard child). I have never been a big fan of the series, but I really enjoyed the recent films with Daniel Craig as a grittier version of the classic character. So, as someone who hadn’t seen a Bond film prior to GoldenEye, I decided to watch all 24 films in just over a month. Read my thoughts and my Top 10 list after the break.

Review: The James Bond Omnibus Volume 004

The world knows James Bond as the cinema’s best British spy, and some may even know his origin as the protagonist in Ian Fleming’s series of novels. What you may not know, however, is that there was a popular comic strip starring Agent 007 from 1958 to 1983. Starting in 2009, Titan Books began releasing large volume Omnibus editions that featured multiple story lines. The James Bond Omnibus Volume 004 comes out today, and I have my review after the break.

James Bond Launches Social Media Presence in Conjunction with Movie Announcement

After months of unsubstantiated rumors about “Bond 23,” the next installment of the James Bond franchise starring Daniel Craig, Sony Pictures held a press conference earlier today with director Sam Mendes, Craig, and other members of the film’s cast to officially announce the particulars of 007’s next adventure. What’s more, the studio announced it in conjunction with the launch of an official James Bond Twitter and Facebook page.
