With the underwater cave thriller Sanctum getting mixed reviews at best on its opening weekend (including our own), it’s no surprise that Universal Pictures and producer James Cameron are trying crazy promotional stunts to get people excited for the film. James Cameron and the Governator Reunite For Political Ad

MovieViral.com isn’t known for posting political new, but since this involves a certain governor and a director I think we can make an exception. The ad involves James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger, who reunite but not to shoot a new Terminator sequel or a True Lies sequel, but to speak about a political ad urging Californians to vote against Proposition 23, a ballot initiative that would put California’s Global Warming Act of 2006 on hold. Create An Avatar In Public With Morphing Stations

A few months ago, we reported on a website that you could use to make a digital representation of yourself as a Na’vi from Avatar. With the film’s premise being that humans can use Na’vi avatars, it’s natural to want to see what you would look like if you had your own avatar. BAFTA Awards: The Results

It’s almost upon us. The awards show that the world looks forward to the most, The Oscars, will take place in just under 2 weeks time. Along with the Screen Actors Guild’s Awards, The BAFTA Awards have log been seen as a precursor to the way in which The Oscars nod will go. Held last night, the BAFTAs nominated Avatar for 8 awards including Best Film and underdog favorite Moon, which had it’s own viral campaign to be included in The Oscars, was nominated for 2 awards.

Roll Out The Red Carpet: Oscars 2010 Announced

This is it! The biggest awards show in Hollywood has released their nominations today and as expected, Avatar has been well represented in the categories. Perhaps the biggest news is that Avatar will NOT be able to steal the crown from Jackson’s masterpiece Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, the epic Ben-Hur and Cameron’s own Titanic. Each film won 11 Oscars and hold the joint record of most Oscars awarded. Avatar and The Hurt Locker (directed by Cameron’s ex-wife Kathryn Bigelow) both lead the pack this year with 9 nominations each.
