Viral Video for “In Time” Feels Familiar…For A Reason

A video hit the Internet this week that showed a guy taking a chainsaw to a parking meter. While this was definitely a cool sight, many people thought it was fake. Either way, the video got over half a million views on YouTube. So, what makes this MovieViral material? When Virals Fail To Live Up to Their Potential

Movie virals have always been a huge part of the film industry since the dawn of its simplest form; the movie trailer. Its only now that virals have become more prevalent to studios since they introduced a more interactive version for fans and moviegoers. There are effective virals, the virals that allow us to experience the movie without even knowing it. Then there are virals that has us think, “what did I just watch?” or “what is this for?” these are the kind of virals have the opposite effect and fails to generate any interest. But it can work if the studios or viral companies do it the right way. But there are examples where they go through that process and as a result the virals that fail to live up to its potential. Times Square Video Hack Turns Out To Be Viral For ‘Limitless’

On Sunday, a video was posted to YouTube that got people wondering whether it was real or fake. In it, a man shows off an iPhone transmitter he invented that allows video to be transmitted to any screen the receiver is near. He demonstrated it in Times Square, including on the jumbotron on One Times Square. After three days, the unknown user, named BITcrash44, uploaded a video explaining how he used a drug that may be familiar to our readers to do it.

New ‘Limitless’ PSA

This week a new 20 second spot has shown up online for Limitless, the film about a miracle drug that changes Bradley Cooper’s character into the perfect version of himself, but at a high cost. The ad mimics the 1980s “This is Your Brain On Drugs” commercials, and falls in line with previous viral marketing we’ve seen from the film.
