Every year Comic-Con International releases each day’s schedule of their San Diego Comic-Con two weeks ahead of time. Yesterday we found out what presentations to expect on the first day of this year’s Comic-Con, and today we learn what is in store for Friday. Some of the highlights are listed after the break, including a certain webslinger.

Sony Pictures looks to make the biggest splash at the convention’s biggest presentation room, Hall H. The studio is bringing talent and hopefully footage for Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, 30 Minutes or Less, Total Recall, and of course The Amazing Spider-Man. We will also get a first look at Steven Spielberg’s The Adventures of Tin-Tin, apparently Paramount’s only film at the con. Other Hall H presentations include Relativity (Raven & Haywire), Legendary Pictures (Pacific Rim, Seventh Son, Paradise Lost, & Mass Effect), Screen Gems (Underworld 4), and Dreamworks (Fright Night).

When you consider that all of Legendary’s projects are still in pre-production, this list is pretty underwhelming for a Friday in Hall H. Comic-Con is also trying a new feature in Hall H called “At the Drive-In”, which they give “some up and coming genre filmmakers an evening berth to preview their upcoming films.” It’s an interesting concept to replace their block of trailers, and I’ll definitely stay for it.

We’ve been covering the Mission Icefly/Test Subjects Needed viral campaign despite almost conclusive evidence that it’s just for a new flavor of Wrigley’s 5 gum. The campaign has been been interesting to follow, and knowing that 42 Entertainment is probably behind it intrigues us even more. Now we have some new updates to the campaign, which includes John Locke himself, after the break.

Last week we posted the video from Mission Icefly that showed paper helicopters with lights dropping down on Bonnaroo. These same devices were mailed to people who signed up for the Test Subjects Needed website. Today, the campaign posted a “version 2″ of the video that has a little easter egg at the end. Watch the video below to see for yourself.

That’s right, that is a scrambled video of Terry O’Quinn (aka John Locke on LOST) saying something like “we all have a certain”. What does this all mean? We don’t know yet, but an update to the Mission Icefly website might give a clue. At the bottom of the page are a series of letters that look to be an incomplete message. There are too many spaces in between to even try to decipher it, but more letters may be revealed soon.

Thanks to Steve from Collider for convincing me to watch the video all the way through, otherwise I might have missed Mr. Locke.

Enimem’s hit single “Love The Way You Lie” features Battleship star Rihanna and has a popular yet controversal music video that is sweeping the web. The video stars Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan as a couple in a tumultuous relationship. Film Drunk happened to notice a similarity to Monaghan’s relationship in The Lord of the Rings trilogy as the Hobbit Meriadoc Brandybuck. So, they switched out Monaghan’s scenes to make the music video about the Shire. Check it out after the break.

This is both great and unfortunate. The LOST epilogue titled “The New Man In Charge” has leaked online, as first reported by Dark UFO. This is a special feature on the LOST full series DVD, and depending on how long this stays up, it could hamper sales. The full mini episode is now on YouTube, but is not embeddable. We first get some insight in the Dharma supply drops that we saw in Season 2. Two men are preparing the packages for the next drop (as we saw in Access Hollywood’s clip) when Ben comes to shut them down. It turns out they information they’ve been receiving on the drops have been automated and coming from the Lamp Post Station in Los Angeles. Ben gives them very nice severance checks, then lets them ask one question each since they want answers.


The first guy asks where the drops are going, and Ben tells him it’s an Island, but the coordinates change every time because the Island moves. The second guy asks why they are sending polar bear biscuits to the tropics, so Ben shows them a DVD out of a Dharma binder he has on him. The DVD is of the Hydra Station Orientation video. Dr. Pierre Chang explains that the station is used to conduct various research on animals. He talks about a few of the animals, including what I think is the Hurley Bird. The polar bears are there because they are ideal candidates for electromagnetic testing (presumably at the Swan Station). They are then sent the Orchid station for more testing.


Chang confirms that the electromagnetism is what causes the fatalities in women who get pregnant on the island. Chang then says that the hostiles (Others) are also tested on at Hydra, specifically in Room 23. They are tested on to learn more about their way of life, particularly their worship of Jacob, confirming that the Dharma Initiative was aware of Jacob in some capacity. The “interrogations” use medicine to ensure the subject does not remember the experience so that the truce remains between the group. All the experiments at Hydra are to remain secret from other members of Dharma.


The video ends, and the two modern Dharma workers have more questions, but Ben has “another call to make”. Ben goes to the Santa Rosa Mental Health Institute to see Keith Johnson, who is actually Walt. Ben recruits him to go back to the Island to help his dead father. Walt and Ben go to the old Dharma van, where Hurley is waiting. Walt says he’s been waiting for someone to get him, and Hurley tells him that he belongs on the Island, and they have a job for him.

It’s hard to believe that in less than three weeks, the entire LOST series collection will be availabe on DVD, and with it, the epilogue titled “New Man in Charge”. This short feature will give us some insight into questions we all had, and what happens to the Island now that the Losties are gone and Hurley is in charge. Access Hollywood got the first clip from the epilogue, which you can see below.

The guys over at How It Should Have Ended have featured LOST in their latest video. They tackle the unanswered mysteries, and even use MacGruber to poke fun at some of the blatantly ignored problems. Enjoy the video below.

In an interview Michael Emerson, who played Ben on LOST, gave on G4′s Attack of the Show, the actor admits that a 12-14 minute scene was shot for the Complete Collection DVD that goes into the what happens on the Island after Hurley takes over as protector. Watch the interview after the break.

“For those people that want to pony up and buy the complete Lost series, there is a bonus feature, which is…you could call it an epilogue,” explained Emerson. “A lost scene. It’s a lot. It’s 12 or 14 minutes that opens a window onto that gap of unknown time between Hurley becoming number one and the end of the series. It’s self-contained, although it’s a rich period in the show’s mythology that ‘s never been explored, so who knows what will come of it.”

I can’t wait to see this. Although it seems a spin-off is unlikely, even Emerson admits that the period in question is a big part of the mythology, and I love the wink they gave it in the episode. Watch the sequence here. The DVD is also supposed to tell us what happened to Walt. Lost: The Complete Collection is available on DVD and Blu-Ray on August 24th.
