Marvel Studios’ Thor is one epic journey that should not be taken by the faint of heart. Many people thought it couldn’t be done. They asked, “How are you gonna do Thor?” The comics are full of magic, myth and action; a challenge to put onto the screen. When it was announced that Kenneth Branagh would be directing, I was in doubt. Branagh, being a classically trained, Shakespearian actor wouldn’t know his way around a comic book movie! But you can’t knock it until you experience it and Thor…is one hell of an experience.

I had the opportunity to attend the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo at the massive McCormick Place convention center this past weekend, and while the focus of the three day convention was primarily comic books, the heavy presence by Marvel presented a few movie related surprises. Not only was Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, the show’s guest of honor, but Marvel and Acura revealed a partnership that just might signal the beginning of a massive viral campaign. Marvel Studios and Paramount Pictures have released the second trailer for Thor. This trailer features more footage than we had ever seen so far, probably because most of the footage stemmed from the Comic-Con trailer alone. That being said, it is an amazing trailer filled with Frost Giant Battles, epic scenes of Asgard, more scenes with the mischievous Loki, The Destroyer, and Kat Dennings.
