Shawn Levy’s streak of directing some pretty awful movies has caused him to become some what of a pariah with writers and critics. And despite those movies, he still has made it out with some successful projects. But now comes Real Steel, a movie that has lifted the pariah name off his shoulders and into a director that is no longer a laughing stock. Sure it may be a bit campy, but the story works, especially in a movie like Real Steel. Which is why I was completely surprised at how much I actually liked the film. [Read more...]
MovieViral was granted a very cool interview with the ever so funny and electric Anthony Mackie, who plays as Finn a charismatic robot-boxing promoter in Real Steel, opening in theaters October 7th.

Briefly: If you are excited for the upcoming robot boxing film Real Steel, then you can help promote the film by creating a Facebook banner with the Real Steel Bot Banner Builder. You can some of your favorite fighting bots to the banner and adjust their sizes, then you just follow the directions to upload and tag the pieces to make your banner. Real Steel opens in IMAX nationwide on October 7th.
Earlier this week, Disney sent out press kits for their upcoming robot boxing movie Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman. These press kits had a note in them from a group called The Underworld, which turns out to be part of the viral campaign the film has been running. As the note warned, the primary viral site has now been hacked by the group.

The World Robot Boxing website now has a new feature called “Learning The Ropes”, where you can train the robot that you built. The website is the viral marketing hub for Disney’s Real Steel, set in the near future where robots have taken over the sport of boxing. The WRB has become the official league for the new sport.
