Actor Jesse Eisenberg hosted NBC’s Saturday Night Live last night, and his monologue became a “Berg” paradox that should have destroyed the entire universe. Instead, we got an awkward and hilarious moment between Eisenberg, who plays Facebook co-founder Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network, Adam Samberg, who plays Zuckerberg on SNL, and Zuckerberg himself. Also, this is apparently the first time Eisenberg and Zuckerberg have met. Watch it yourself after the break.

Last night Betty White hosted Saturday Night Live for the first time in her long entertainment career. Why did she get to host now? Because of a Facebook with hundreds of thousands of members calling for the 88 year old to host SNL. NBC announced she would be the host of the Mother’s Day special, which aired last night. The response so far has been overwhelmingly positive – many calling it the best episode in years. More after the jump.
NBC’s Saturday Night Live has had trouble converting their popular recurring skits into quality (and profitable) films. You could even argue that Wayne’s World was their only true success story, and may be the only reason they kept trying. This summer, the producers of the show are trying to break that trend with MacGruber, an action comedy starring Will Forte. To help promote the movie, NBC Universal has created an iPhone app and a MacGruber Training Academy website. Details after the jump.

Last night, Jennifer Lopez hosted and performed on Saturday Night Live, and she did a pretty good job in my opinion (at least as host). The show parodied the new “We Are the World” song by bringing awareness to how bad the song is. We also got a couple hilarious skits on the Olympics, as well as “Undercover Celebrity Boss”. Intervention is a hit show on A&E that profiles people whose dependence on drugs and alcohol or other compulsive behavior has brought them to rock bottom, so the family and an intervention specialist stage a surprise intervention. While the premise for the captivating show is serious, Funny or Die has found a way to mock it. While the video is a few months old, they just featured it on their YouTube channel this week. In the video, Fred Armisan (of SNL fame) needs an intervention for his addiction to the show Intervention. Take a look after the jump.

There is a mildly funny viral video floating around about the backstage antics happening on the MacGruber set. Honestly, I never even found the MacGruber skits on SNL to be all that funny, and this little short basically has nothing to with the movie what-so-ever, but why should my opinions stop me from letting my fellow viral nuts have a say? The movie comes out April 23rd and stars Will Forte.

Sigourney Weaver was the host of Saturday Night Live this week, so of course you’d expect an Avatar parody, since Weaver starred in the film. Well, we definitely got one. Actually, we got blessed with three, and James Cameron even jumped in on the action by premiering Laser Cats 5 to SNL exec producer Lorne Michaels. This is one of my favorite recurring sketches on the show, and this one was great as it made hysterical references to pretty much every Cameron film. We also finally get to see the sex scene from Avatar, and Weaver reacts to internet comments on her and the film.
And of course SNL couldn’t ignore the late night talk show fiasco. We have both Seth’s marriage analogy of the situation and Larry King’s take on it. Check out all the videos, embedded after the jump.
