Watch: Honest Trailer For ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’

There are times were nostalgia makes us lose sight of remakes and reboots. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is one particular example. The first trilogy never really had a strong story, and only got weaker with the next two installments, but they where sure as hell fun to watch when we were kids, and that nostalgia still carries on to today. Now with the new Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, we sort of see a similarity. Not particularly strong in the script department, and since it comes from Bay’s production house, it ruins our nostalgia of the four reptilian ninjas, but we forget that these movies aren’t meant for adults nor are they really here to remind us of the glory days.

So ScreenJunkies gives us yet another one of their Honest Trailers for the film. Hit the jump to check it out. [Read more…]

Paramount will be releasing a brand new iteration of the iconic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles this Friday. It’s been a little over thirty years since the first film hit theaters, and the Jonathan Liebesman-directed incarnation is the first to use the motion-capture technology and combine it with live action. Should the film be a huge success at the box office, this could mean that the newer generation could be seeing more of these turtles and less of the ones we remember from the 90s.

Now to help promote the film, Paramount has released a brand new clip, which features our four heroes in a half shell amping themselves up for a battle against the Shredder by beat boxing. Hit the jump to check it out. [Read more…]

“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”: Review: All Nonsensical Action With Zero Character And Charm

teenage mutant ninja turtles image review 01

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were never meant to be taken seriously. In fact they were suppose to be a parody of the modern superhero. They have since then evolved into being one of the many icons in pop culture. Three live action movies and one animated movies – and let’s not forget the comics and countless animated series iterations – later we have reached the point where we needed a CGI live-action hybrid. And while it may be time to introduce these heroes to a new generation, it seemed like a lot of effort went into making this Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, from Michael Bay‘s Platinum Dunes – as disposable as possible.

The action is terrifyingly dizzying to a point where it hurts. The characters have near to zero likability. However, the story is somewhat descent. And for once Megan Fox isn’t hypersexualized, but that doesn’t really do anything for the film anyway. There is a lot stacked against this film, and there is very little redeeming factors to it. But that doesn’t make a complete disaster, but it also doesn’t make it something to get excited over.
