Briefly: The Traelek Institute is gearing up to open another testing facility, but not before they release more Iceflies! You have until Monday to vote for 3 more cities to get the Iceflies. Head over to the Human Preservation Project hub on 5 Gum’s Facebook page to vote for one of 6 cities including: Tampa, Kansas City, Philadelphia, Minneapolis, Anaheim and New Orleans. Test Subjects Needed ARG Updates: Scary Voicemail And More

When we last left off with the Test Subjects Needed (aka Human Preservation Project, aka Mission Icefly) ARG, we had found the Survival Code website that lead to a countdown, as well as the site for the Traelak Institute. Now there are a few more updates for the campaign, including a creepy voicemail message found. Mission Icefly: Traelek Institute Has a Website

The latest development in the Test Subjects Needed ARG has been a new viral website called Survival Code. As we stated earlier today, once you set up your profile on the new site, you get access to 5 pages of a comic book. These pages feature the fictional Traelek Institute, in which Terry O’Quinn talks to a classroom about the state of senses in humans. The video that we also discovered has some of the same imagery. Well, it turns out that the Traelek Institute exists, at least online.

Mission Icefly Leads To Survival Code

Yesterday afternoon, Mission Icefly commenced. The activity was part of the Test Subjects Needed ARG from 42 Entertainment, and by all accounts is a marketing campaign for Wrigley’s new flavor of their 5 Gum brand. Those in denial or simply itching for a good ARG to follow participated in the dead drop game, and we got a new viral site to show for it. Get the details after the break.

Dead Drop Activity Confirmed For Mission Icefly

Yesterday we figured out that the Mission Icefly website was revealing cities throughout the United States. Now the letters are fully visible and instructions have been added to the bottom of the website, confirming our suspicions that a dead drop activity similar to the Flynn Lives campaign was imminent. Mission Icefly: New Video Has Hidden Image of Terry O’Quinn, Website Has Mysterious Letters

We’ve been covering the Mission Icefly/Test Subjects Needed viral campaign despite almost conclusive evidence that it’s just for a new flavor of Wrigley’s 5 gum. The campaign has been been interesting to follow, and knowing that 42 Entertainment is probably behind it intrigues us even more. You’re Needed For “Mission Icefly”!

As you know we’ve been covering a new viral campaign from 42 Entertainment, the genius marketing firm behind great ARGs such as Flynn Lives and Why So Serious. There has been a lot of speculation as to what The Human Preservation Project could possibly be viral for, with 5 Gum, video games, and The Dark Knight Rises in the running. After laying low, the viral has become active again. Today I received a mysterious package from the preservation project and its contents were just as mystifying.
