This Week In Viral – Star Trek Dance Party Edition

Good news and bad news. Good news: Star Trek viral is back in action. Bad news: It’s in the form of dance parties. A few weeks ago, Trek Movie reported on an event at the Hollywood club LAX. However, it wasn’t just any party. One of the photos show a website written on the wall behind a party-goer:
The site, http://01001111.com, is a flash animation of static with quick flashes of images and writing. Check out Trek Movie for all the photos and analysis. There are other foreign sites written on walls at the party with similar, yet longer, binary codes as the address. These sites have similar content, and after much research, this is Trek Movie’s conclusion:
So for now it looks like the solution is to visit http://97.74.158.186/ on Friday April 17th. Unclear what the ‘VI’ clue leads to. That may be a code used for the site, or maybe it means 6 AM (or PM).

This Week In Viral – Even More Terminator

Well, the Terminator Salvation viral just keeps getting better. The Human Resistance has updated their site with a new design and a countdown to September 8th. The video on the page talks about Judgement Day, so it’s logical to assume that this countdown is for that. (Please note that this viral has yet to be confirmed as official). The Resist Or Be Terminated group also have a new video. The site’s writer claims the video just showed up on his computer. Looks like it’s from the future! Check it out:

The Watchmen viral appears to be officially over, as noted by the elimination of its page from our site. This is the first viral we’ve covered at MoveViral to end, so this is an important moment for us. Check out the forum if you want to talk about your reaction to the film, and we have a few reviews on the main page, including our ViralCast Special. We’ll have a review of the viral itself soon. This Week In Viral – Finally, D-9 is Back!

As mentioned in last week’s TWIV, the viral for District 9 seems to be back out of nowhere. There are viral web ads on sites like slashfilm.com and even Facebook (thanks to David and Sajin for the tips). Also, the main viral site, D-9.com has a new intro video and walkthrough (via andyboy35 from the forums), and MNU has some downloadable items like wallpapers and stickers. Not to be outdone, mnuspreadslies.com has a new blog just saying they’re back and some downloadable items as well. Lastly, mathsfromouterspace.com has an option to register for updates. As always, it’s a good idea to sign up.
