“The Avengers” Trailer Joins Recycled Footage Trend: Is It Justifiable?

After watching the trailer for Marvel’s The Avengers over 20 times today, one shot stood out to me. I knew I had seen it somewhere before. I didn’t want to seem like a nitpicking fanboy (the trailer is absolutely awesome, by the way), but then I found out I wasn’t the only person who noticed it. Whoever edited the trailer threw in a shot from the Iron Man movie, and recolored it, among other adjustments, probably thinking no one would be able to recognize it. They thought wrong. To see the pic and more about recycled footage, hit the jump. [Read more...]

“The Avengers” Assemble in a New Trailer (Updated)

In July, Marvel Studios attached a teaser of their ultimate superhero flick, The Avengers, after Captain America: The First Avenger. It wasn’t much, just a barrage of quick shots of the team, Nick Fury and SHIELD, and Loki. In September, at Disney’s D23 Expo, Marvel blew the roof off of the Anaheim Convention Center with an extended trailer that was cut together just for that audience. Today, we finally get a nice look at actual footage from one of next summer’s most anticipated releases, courtesy of Apple. Check out iTunes Movie Trailers for the exclusive first trailer to The Avengers, and let us know in the comments what you think! (Now updated with embeddable video after the break!)

Marvel Finally Decides To Promote “Captain America” With New Poster and Trailer

Marvel Studio’s last movie before the superhero team-up movie The Avengers is next month’s Captain America: The First Avenger. However, despite the film being just weeks away from opening, the studio, along with distributor Paramount, have really dropped the ball on marketing it. We haven’t seen much promotional material, and up until today there had only been one full trailer, and even it only showed a few seconds of Steve Rogers (played by Chris Evans) in the suit. Fortunately, it looks like the bigwigs have finally decided to step up the effort with a second trailer that shows more Captain, as well as a new poster from Yahoo that has a classic patriotic look to it. Check them both out after the break.
