NBC Viral Round Up: Chuck and The Office Dan Koelsch, December 12, 2009December 12, 2009 We’ve yet to talk about Chuck here at MovieViral, and for good reason. There’s not been much to talk about. Well, now as the 3rd season is just about to premiere, there is something for us to report. The site Chuck Me Out was created by NBC for fans to share information on the show and characters, and more importantly, save the show from being cancelled. With Season 3 premiering next month, it looks like it succeeded. Now the site has launched “Mission: ChuckMeOut“, where you can win prizes by promoting Chuck’s new season through social networking (similar to what FOX’s GLEE contest). Here’s the basic rules and prizes:Earn points by completing daily missions & sharing the greatness of Chuck on Twitter, Facebook, & MySpace. Each week, the player who’s earned the most points will win a “Chuck Gift Pack” with a signed Season 2 DVD from Zachary Levi, a Chuck sweatshirt, & a Chuck messenger bag. The Chuck Fan with the MOST points will win the Grand Prize – having his or her face appear in an episode during one of Chuck’s “flashes!” DVDs, swag, and your ugly mug on TV? Pretty sweet deal. It looks like the networks are finally putting cult fans to good use by utilizing the one tool they have: the Internet. Maybe if FOX did this 5 years ago for Firefly, I’d have multiple seasons sitting on my DVD shelf. It’s a pretty effective tool, and with the new direction the show’s taking this season, it might just work. Take a look at the “super preview” below to see what I’m talking about. In other NBC viral news, Ryan Howard’s photo blog has some new updates. As you remember, the pretentious blog was created by The Office character Ryan to showcase his photography. He has a few new photos and responses, so check that out. He’s even in the holiday spirit with the following photo: We also have another viral site for The Office. Lately, Dwight has been doing everything in his power to get Jim fired, and now Ryan is on board. Check out Dwight’s Diabolical Blog to read his thoughts on all his plans and attempts. Season 3 of “Chuck” premieres January 10, 2010. “The Office” airs Thursdays at 9/8c. Viral Marketing ChuckThe Office
