Film festivals always bring out interesting news, and the South By Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas is no exception. In fact, Cloverfield director Matt Reeves was at SXSW over the weekend, and MTV asked him about the current prospects for a sequel to the monster flick. Find out what he said after the jump.
Josh Horowitz of MTV asked Reeves if Cloverfield 2 was still a possibility. The Let Me In director said him, the film’s producers J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, and screenwriter Drew Goddard are constantly talking about it, but that doesn’t mean it’s a sure thing.
“I can tell you nothing, [but] there are these spikes in activity,” he said when asked about a second “Cloverfield” movie. “There are things that we keep talking about and things spike up. It very well may happen.”
