WHEN IT COMES TO VIRAL MARKETING: MARVEL ARE FLYING THE FLAG AND LEADING THE WAY AS ALWAYS
Who said viral marketing was dead? Or even dying? Probably those same doom forecasters that deemed CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR overcrowded with heroes before its release. Or the same lot that speculated BATMAN V SUPERMAN could not co-exist comfortably with its MARVEL counterpart.
But we at MOVIE VIRAL are always more optimistic. We are. (Shut up!).
And it is indeed apt that the poster boy for positivism and truth, STEVE ROGERS / ‘Cap’ (CHRIS EVANS) has a little film out that just happens to showcase THE very best in viral video marketing. The fact that said movie probably does not NEED the help of any kind of viral campaign is beside the point.
The Marvel brand backers believe in the innate value of the viral: a consolidation to marketing strategies but also an affirmation that THEY LOVE THEIR OWN UNIVERSE! And they also LOVE YOU as FANS. It’s about world building BEYOND the movies, with accessible Easter eggs that can both supplement a Blu Ray / Digital Download and simply exist ‘out there’ to lend greater reality to the experience of vicariously living these marvelous movies.
